Beautiful single-volume edition for a great price

This is a beautiful, well constructed, and finely printed volume of the collected works of Sherlock Holmes. These are my impressions of the book (mostly good!):
These are the proper original UK versions

I just bought the Kindle version of this book. I have a couple of other versions already (that I can now expunge forever), but they are all US versions. Many people may not realize that the manuscripts were altered when they were published in the US. For instance, The Reigate Squires became The Reigate Puzzle. The rival stables in Silver Blaze changed from Capleton to Mapleton (goodness only knows why). And some entire passages were omitted. For example, in the Yellow Face, there is a whole passage where Holmes talks about the putting of sham flies into the sham amber of pipes that is completely missing from US editions. So far I have also not come across any of the egregious typos that appear in other Kindle editions of Holmes. There are no illustrations, as another reviewer has pointed out, but as I already own an excellent two volume annotated hardcover set by William S. Baring-Gould, that does not bother me. I just wanted this to read while traveling.

I absolutely love this. The design and binding are of excellent quality and the silk bookmark inside is so useful! I've had this for ages and it's holding up really well. My favorite book of all time, I re-read it all the time and I couldn't be happier with my purchase!
Great for all ages

I recall loving these books as a kid, but could hardly remember any of the actual cases and story lines. It has been wonderful to revisit all of these wonderful stories again. Come on....who doesn't like Sherlock? 🙂
A Great Classic Series!

This is a complete Kindle collection of all Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes novels and stories. I think it is great that the entire collection is made so readily available on Kindle and at such nominal cost. Not so many years ago, mystery fans paid a lot more for the hardcover and even paperback collections of the various stories. This is the great classic series that has inspired generations of "who dunnits" and with numerous movie and television adoptions, the most memorable being Sherlock Holmes as played by Basil Rathbone in the original films and Jeremy Britt from the 90's. I read all of the stories when I was a kid, still fun and captivating to read as an adult.

Most of the stories are similar to one another, but it was nice to read about old England. In my opinion the novels are better than the shorts since Doyle had the opportunity to expand the story into other areas which gave depth and breadth to the stories.
Great Collection at Great Price

Originally ordered another collection by a different publisher but found that the stories were printed out of order. I ordered this (my first Knickerbocker Classics) edition and was very pleased with the quality. The cover is houndstooth fabric that is a pleasure to hold. The print is easy to read with a good sized font on durable paper. I was concerned that the book would have typos since the price seemed too reasonable, but none were found. The only downside, and a minor one at that, is that there are none of the popular illustrations by Sidney Paget. I am very pleased with this purchase and have ordered a few other collections from Knickerbocker Classics.

It does not include His Last Bow which is a collection of 7 Sherlock Holmes Stories. It also does not appear to have illustrations that should be in a couple of stories (The Dancing Men and The Priory School) At the the illustrations do not show up on either my phone or computer. I did check a physical copy to make sure they should exist and they do.
